Lured by the mystique of Makkah and Madinah, many Westerners have visited these two holy cities, on which the pilgrims converge, since the 15th century. Some of them disguised themselves as Muslims; others, who had genuinely converted, came to fulfill their duty.
But all seem to have been moved by their experience, and many recorded their impressions of the journey and the rituals of the hajj in fascinating accounts. Many hajj travelogues exist, written in languages as diverse as the pilgrims themselves.

Islam101 - Course for Reverts and Youth
We declare solemnly and accept with our heart and soul that Allah SWT is our Creator, that Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's Peace and Blessings be on him) was His last Messenger, and that Islam is our way of life. But we have been bogged down by the busy hectic routines of life and have not been able to find time to study what Islam actually demands of us.
877-Why-Islam has launched a series of classes just for this purpose. First Class on Saturday, Jan. 3rd, 2009
- This Course is for Reverts and Youth.
- It will be held on 1st Saturday of each Month from 1:15 pm to 4:00 pm
- Course is free to attend, but requires RSVP at reverts@whyislam.org
- Complementary lunch will be served!

Q. 1. I am an New Muslim. Should I attend this course?
Yes, Insha Allah, this is an excellent option for you. You are not required to have any preliminary knowledge. We will attempt to teach everything you need to know to fulfill your basic duties as a muslim. every class will cover one aspect of Salah - Islamic Prayers. The class will also provide opportunities for socialization, Insha Allah.
Q. 2. Will there be any certificates given at the end of the class?
Yes, 877-Why-Islam will give certificates to those who complete the course successfully. Insha Allah.
Q. 3. Are the faculty well-qualified?
Dr. Mohamed Esseghir is a learned member of central Jersey community. He is a regular khateeb at MCMC, ISCJ and other local institutions.
Q. 4. What if I miss a class?
All classes will be webcast live, and will be achieved for future use.
Q. 5. Is there any age-limit for registration?
No, you are eligible as long as you have the commitment and dedication to better understand your faith.
